This immersive tea tasting experience in honor of Harriet Tubman Day invites you to sip tea just as Harriet did, connecting you to the resilience, strength, and perseverance that defined her life. Through storytelling and guided tasting, discover the role tea played in Harriet’s daily life, the strategies she used to navigate the Underground Railroad, and how her legacy continues to inspire today.
U.S. Army Chaplain Lisa Northway, Ms. Achievement North America 2025, will lead the tea demonstration, sharing her own journey and drawing connections between Harriet’s story and the spirit of perseverance in today’s world. Historian Leesa Jones, Executive Director of the Washington Waterfront Underground Railroad Museum, will provide powerful insights into Harriet’s role in the Underground Railroad and the strategies of escape that changed history.
